Basic Statement of Functions

Summary: This position is accountable for the following areas: Exceptional customer service primarily based out of the liquor store and grounds keepings. Assisting in the following areas: Checking in vendors, stocking shelves, putting away stock, breaking down boxes and disposing of them, storage room upkeep, rotating stock, interior/exterior maintenance and appearance, along with other site-specific duties set by location manager.

Must be self-motivated.

Job Specifications (Qualifications)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must be able to work with customers and co-workers. Require ability to perform basic math computations at the 8th grade level.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.  Require ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

None

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate a personal computer and ability to learn basic software
  • Ability to be courteous and timely when interacting with customers
  • Ability to perform basic math computations at the 8th grade level
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of customer service at any Town Pump Property
  • Ability to provide planning, leadership and organization to get the job completed
  • Ability to work with the public and be a team player while on shift
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment by adhering to the 50 lb. lifting requirement Items exceeding this amount should be lifted per safety manual (dolly).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ability to lift 30 lb. regularly and 50 lb. occasionally
  2. Wearing the uniform assigned and keeping your appearance neat and clean
  3. Suggestive selling, knowledge of products offered and helping customers find the right products
  4. Clean restrooms, dusting, windows, floors, emptying trash cans
  5. Outside appearance including lights, snow removal, weeds, landscaping, trash
  6. Use of a fire extinguisher and other safety equipment
  7. Listening and handling customer complaints, reporting complaints to supervisor
  8. Use of safety manual and casino rest room logs
  9. Location safety and security
  10. Answer and screening telephone calls
  11. Stocking, and receiving liquor store products and supplies
  12. Advise manager of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on liquor store operating performance
  13. Greet customers
  14. Deep clean any area in and on the property as assigned
  15. Fill and carry bags of ice from icemaker to merchandiser.
  16.  Maintenance including basic repair and upkeep, changing paper, ribbons
  17.  Ability to vacuum location floor
  18. Ability mop and sweep floors
  19. Shovel snow and sweep parking lots and sidewalks
  20.  Ability to check identification of customers in order to verify age requirement of purchase of alcohol
  21. Maintain company, customer and employee confidentiality at all times
  22. Ability to assist in handling disruptive customers in a professional manner
  23. Ability to properly document incidents on an incident report
  24. Communicate with manager on products that need to be ordered, order or requisition liquors and supplies
  25. Keep register area clean, organized and free of debris
  26. Ability to monitor shrink and security while on shift
  27. Ability to follow safety guidelines and use PPE (personal protective equipment) according to guidelines
  28. Ability to use a ladder

 

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Any other job duties as assigned by supervisors.

           

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Ability to lift 30 lb. regularly and 50 lb. occasionally. Items exceeding this limit should be lifted per the safety manual instructions with a dolly/wagon (i.e., Kegs, Gaming machines, cases of liquor, etc.)
  • Ability to work in coolers and/or freezers up to one hour
