Job Description Summary


Basic Statement of Functions

Summary: Performs routine custodial duties in the cleaning of the hotel, while under the close supervision of the maintenance manager.

Job Specifications (Qualifications)


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in housekeeping a plus.


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence. Able to read, write and speak English.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Must be able to perform basic math computations at 8th grade level.




Ability to understand and carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.


Valid Montana Driver's License


  • Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts including early mornings or late nights. 
  • Must be mature, neat in appearance, courteous, friendly, and outgoing; and know what to do or say in dealing with people.
  • Must be in good health; able to smile and always be pleasant.
  • Ability to operate a vacuum cleaner and other cleaning equipment, and report malfunctions as they occur.
  • Must be able to learn and comprehend all company policies pertaining to position and employment.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to see problem areas arise and be able to communicate these problems to the maintenance manager.
  • Must possess a sense of discretion and confidentiality.


1. Assist guests with general requests including room amentities, shuttle driving, etc.

2. Cleans mirrors and shelves, wipes doors, door frames and furniture. Dusts all surfaces, arranges furniture properly and vacuum carpet.

3. Cleans bathrooms, scrubs basins, toilets, and tile floor with appropriate chemical solution in accordance with company policy, using protective equipment.

4. Reports to the maintenance manager any needed repairs to furniture and fixtures

5. Will be required to perform deep cleaning projects as assigned.

6. Maintain a clean and well-stocked supply room.

7. Assist the maintenance division in general repairs.

  • Ability to lift 30 lb. regularly and 50 lb. occasionally.
