Summary: Performs routine custodial duties in the cleaning and minor building repairs, while under the close supervision of the Hotel Manager.



  1. Picks up debris from the floor and empties trash in wastebaskets.
  2. Cleans mirrors and shelves, wipes doors, door frames and furniture. Dusts all surfaces, arranges furniture properly and vacuum carpet.
  3. Cleans bathrooms, scrubs basins, toilets, and tile floor with appropriate chemical solution in accordance with company policy, using protective equipment.
  4. Reports to the Hotel Manager any needed repairs to furniture and fixtures
  5. Will be required to perform deep cleaning projects as assigned.
  6. Maintain a clean and well-stocked supply room.
  7. Minor Building Repairs as needed e.g. Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Painting


  1. Any other duties as assigned by the hotel manager.

Job Specifications (Qualifications)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in general maintenance or hotel housekeeping a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. Able to read, write and speak English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Must be able to perform basic math computations at 8th grade level.

COMPUTER SKILLS:  Basic Computer Skills to include Microsoft Suite, E-Mail, Word, Excel, Internet, and Instant Messaging

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to understand and carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to lift 30 lb. regularly and 50 lb. occasionally.
