Summary:  Provides support of application software, perform system testing in both development and environments by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

 

  • Gather and document business requirements for complex business operations, including complex use scenarios, features, and functions, and interfaces to other systems.
  • Validate software application design and configuration through testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application errors or unexpected behaviors and provide root cause analysis. 
  • Develop and maintain application life cycle and road maps.
  • Document data models for software applications.
  • Develops new or updates current support, end user, and training documentation.
  • Analyzes computer programming logic and/or reporting code to find root cause of security threats or errors and recommend revisions to computer programs and/or reports.
  • Performs support and problem management according to ITIL standards for end-user requests.
  • Tests and controls changes in the production environment according to ITIL change management standards.
  • Coordinates with application vendors or development teams to resolve problems and trouble tickets.

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including Visio, Microsoft Visual Studio, source control software applications, knowledge and/or experience with one or more of the supported Microsoft Visual Studio programming languages preferred, knowledge and/or experience with MS SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS (ELT) technologies preferred.
