Job Description Summary

Basic Statement of Functions

Summary:  Perform daily auditing procedures to ensure all accounting processes and values are accurate for various Convenience stores and other profit centers as assigned.  Perform Accounts Payable functions and audit Vendor invoicing for accuracy.  Provide customer service for both the store locations and other internal/external customers.

 

Job Specifications (Qualifications)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or Associate’s degree (A.A) from a two-year college or technical school with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Experience in the following software: MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Monarch, Internet.  Experience with or ability to learn PDI Enterprise accounting software.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • None

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate a 10 key adding machine with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stores, banks, vendors, co-workers and supervisor.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Audit Convenience store/Car Wash daily paperwork per documented procedures, make corrections and provide training to Store personnel as needed.
  2. Review and correct inventory invoice entries for various Convenience stores, and provide training to Store personnel as needed.
  3. Responsible for auditing specific General Ledger Accounts monthly, make appropriate journal entries.
  4. Maintain monthly/weekly reports and distribute to appropriate personnel.
  5. Research transactions on occasion to verify sales and income are accounted for correctly.
  6. Become knowledgeable of Town Pump’s Point of Sale equipment to assist locations and research transactions.
  7. Perform Account Payable functions, reconcile vendor statements
